Thai Manners
Some dos and don'ts
- Do not criticise the king, queen or any member of the Royal Family past or present
- Do not criticise the religion
- Do not wear shoes inside a temple building
- Do not show public displays of affection
- Do not sun bathe topless
- Do not touch the top of anyone's head (even as a friendly gesture)
- Do not point your feet at anyone and do not use your feet to move or point out anything.
- Women must not touch a Buddist monk
- In temples and royal palaces dress modestly, no shorts or short skirts, women should cover bear shoulders and men should not wear short trousers.
