There are several dialects of the Thai. Central Thai is the most common form of the Thai language. Very few people know or speak so called Royal dialect. There are three other main Tai languages spoken in Thailand: Southern Thai, Northern Thai, and Loatian, called Northeastern Thai or Ea-san in Thailand. Literacy rate is approaching 95%.
The major religion is Buddhism, with well over 90 percent of the population being Buddhist, the provinces neighboring Malaysia are predominantly Muslim.
Its natural resources include: tin, rubber, natural gas, tungsten, tantalum, timber, lead, lignite, fluoride, arable land.
